Suryauday Haveli on Shivala Ghats is a reflection of the spirit of the holy city of Benaras, better known as Varanasi. The Haveli traces its history back to the early 20th century. It was built by the Royal Family of Nepal as a retreat for the aged. It is now been painstakingly put together again to provide the best ghat experience in Benaras.

It sits in a perfect location sitting on the banks of the River Ganges where a short walk away from the life the river brings to this spiritual heart of India in Varanasi.

Housed in a refurbished 20th-century fort-style mansion, Suryauday Haveli is situated in the holy city of Benaras, just a 15-minute walk from the famous Kashi Vishwanath Temple.

Fitted with wooden flooring, air-conditioned rooms offer cable TV and a private bathroom with a hairdryer. Tea/coffee making facilities are included. Select rooms offer views of the river.

The cozy dining area serves Indian vegetarian dishes. The rooftop terrace offers snacks and beverages, accompanied by panoramic views of the surroundings. However, the Amritara Suryauday Haveli does not serve alcohol, something that relates to the holy river setting in which it is located.

Suryauday’s 24-hour front desk can assist with currency exchange, laundry and tour arrangement. Room service is also available.
