A return trip and stop-over to Bangkok before heading south to Rai Leh and onward to fascinating Myanmar.
The air is thick and the traffic terrible as usual, but Bangkok is a vibrant and colourful place. Night markets, river tours, pagodas and the Royal Palace are just a few of the many things to do here.
It makes for an exciting place to visit considering the entertainment options, where anything you want can be found. Almost anything goes in Bangkok.
I admit on this occasion I was overwhelmed by the pollution and smog, the air grey, the waterways dirty and the sky hovering grey and thick with no blue sky – it makes Beijing look like a greenhouse.
Despite the thick air, after a week away in more tranquil settings, it was nice to see some activity and life that Bangkok has to offer to anyone who visits.
