Max Brown Hotel Museum Square (previously names The Poet Hotel) Amsterdam lies around the corner from the famous Vondelpark, right in Amsterdam’s chic museum district. It offers compact, boutique-style rooms with flat-screen cable TV and private bathrooms.

Set in a classic townhouse, each room comes with a small work desk, a clothing closet and a safe box. There is a bathroom with modern facilities and free toiletries and towels.

The hotel includes a 24-hour bar which offers guests an hour of free Wi-Fi when they buy a drink. A complimentary breakfast is served every morning.

Various touristic highlights are in the vicinity of Max Brown Hotel Museum Square (previously called Poet Hotel). There are the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum around the block. The prestigious P.C. Hooftstraat shopping street is 110 yards away as well. Schiphol Airport is 30 minutes away by public transport.

It looks like the hotel has updated since I visited, but I have included an image of what it looked like before the change, however, this was a nice hotel in a good location, a bit distant from the centre, but nearby museums and galleries, and some very fine shops, and entertainment district.

UPDATE: Appears the name has changed from Poet Hotel Amsterdam to Max Brown Hotel Museum Square. Checking booking sites it looks like it has gone through a transformation and update since this was posted.
